There are lots of apparel options in Fallout 76. From comedic mascot suits to faction-themed outfits, there's a lot for players to choose from. One of the outfits that players can get their hands on is the Blue Ridge Caravan set. This stylish outfit can be seemingly hard to come by.

However, with the right knowledge and some grinding, it's possible to get this outfit fairly easily. Caravans play a big part in Fallout games. They travel all over the world selling their wares and moving supplies from one town to another. Since they play such an integral part in keeping supply lines going strong, it's no surprise that players want to dress up like them. This guide will go through how to get the Blue Ridge Caravan outfit.

The Two Ways To Get The Blue Ridge Caravan Outfit

Both Ways May Take Some Time

There are two ways that players can get their hands on the Blue Ridge Caravan Outfit and Gas Mask. The first is by trading. You may get lucky and happen across one being sold in someone's CAMP vending machine. While it's not likely, it does occasionally happen. However, it's worth keeping in mind that players who sell this set don't sell it cheaply. So, be prepared to pay at least a few thousand caps for this outfit.

The other way that you can get this outfit is by completing the Riding Shotgun event. This is a hidden event. It's not a public event, so you won't be notified when it's happening. Also, unlike other non-public events in Fallout 76, this event isn't random, and it's not triggered by walking through a certain area. To start this event, you'll need to head down to Big Bend Tunnel East.

Get The Caravan Moving

To start the event, you'll need to speak to Vinny Costa. Once you travel to Big Bend Tunnel East, head into the compound and turn right. You'll see two Power Armor Stations. Vinny Costa is standing on the platform above the Power Armor Stations. Speak to him and select the option to start the event. He'll say that he's got a caravan waiting and ready.

Head inside Big Bend Tunnel East. Once inside, you'll have two minutes to speak to the caravan guard (Kieran) to begin the Riding Shotgun event.

Defend The Caravan

The event itself is pretty straightforward: defend the caravan as it makes its way through the tunnel. There are two guards and two Brahmin that will need to be protected by you and any other player who joins the event.

As you may have already guessed, there will be enemies that you'll need to take care of as the caravan makes its way through the tunnel. There are a total of three main attacks that you'll need to deal with; each one is slightly more challenging than the last. That said, the enemies aren't that difficult to take out, and the Brahmin can take quite a beating before dying, so completing this event solo isn't usually an issue.

The enemies are primarily Blood Eagles. However, there are a few Mole Miners and Mongrels that pop up along the way. The event typically takes around 5 minutes to complete. Here's a quick breakdown of the event itself:

• Speak to the caravan
• Follow the Brahmin to the first opening
• Fend off the attackers
• Follow the Brahmin further into the tunnel
• There's a blockage on the path that one of the guards needs to wire up with explosives
• Defend the Brahmin as the guard sets up the explosives
• Then, head into the next area where you'll need to take down a legendary Blood Eagle Captain
• Once he's dead, hit the button marked on your HUD to open a gate
• Follow the Brahmin to the last section
• Fend off one last attack before making a run for the exit
• Optional: collect four lost supplies along the way

An Optional Extra That's Worth Doing

As you make your way through the tunnel, you'll come to realize that the caravan you are guarding isn't the only caravan that's tried to make its way through. Dotted around the tunnel, there are remains of less successful ventures.

Next to each downed caravan guard is a blue box that can be opened. There are a total of four boxes throughout the tunnel; take the contents of each one as you go through. This will give you some extra rewards at the end.

Finding the boxes can be tricky as they can be in several different locations. There are small caves along the tunnel, side passages, and other hidden areas. So, it may prove difficult to find them all, especially if you are doing the event alone.

It's also worth noting that depending on where the supply crates are, there may be some Mole Miners nearby that will need to be killed.

Thankfully, there's a very useful video on YouTube by Decoy's Dungeon that goes through the various supply crate locations. It's worth giving it a watch before starting the event to get a rough idea of where each box may be.

Riding Shotgun Cooldown Period

The Event Can't Be Redone Immediately

After completing Riding Shotgun, there's around a 1-hour cooldown period before it can be started again. However, this only applies to the server you are on. So, if you hop servers, provided that nobody has recently completed the event, then you can go and do the event again. Simply rinse and repeat, and you can grind the event as much as you like.

This is a great way of getting extra Treasury Notes. It also dramatically increases the chances of you getting the Blue Ridge Caravan set. Those with Fallout 1st can also take advantage of private servers, as each time they load up a new server, the event is guaranteed to be available.

Riding Shotgun Rewards

The Chance To Get A Blue Ridge Outfit Or Gas Mask

Each time you complete the event, you'll get some basic rewards. They will be a mixture of the following:

• Treasury Notes
• Weapons/Armor
• Ammo
• A Pepperoni Roll
• XP

There is also a mix of rare rewards that players can get, including the Blue Ridge outfit and Gas Mask. If you complete the event and have all of the lost supplies, then you'll have roughly a 5% chance of getting one of the rare rewards. The rare rewards can be seen below:

• Plan: Blue Ridge Caravan Flag

Since there is only a five percent chance of getting one of the rare rewards, you'll need to complete the event a fair few times before you get both the outfit and the mask. For the best chance of getting rare rewards, do the event with a couple of friends; that way, you can swap rewards with one another.

It should be noted that the Blue Ridge Caravan Outfit and Gas Mask can't be crafted. So, you'll need to get this outfit by either completing the event or by purchasing it from another player.
