Hail, Caesar! (2016) | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Richard Brody New Yorker Scintillating, uproarious, substantial, and playfully personal. Mar 23, 2020 Full Review Hail, Caesar! (2016) | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Roxana Hadadi Chesapeake Family Magazine Hail, Caesar! imagines the inner dealings of Hollywood during the early 20th century ... But the film's point for these shenanigans is possibly nonexistent. Rated: 3/5 Aug 2, 2016 Full Review Hail, Caesar! (2016) | Rotten Tomatoes (4) Cory Woodroof For the Win (USA Today) This one really hammers in why the Coens’ tonal balance is so hard to match, as this one hides any direct cynicism for the industry behind an ornate dedication to the fiercely dedicated weirdos who keep movies going. Feb 22, 2024 Full Review Hail, Caesar! Rated: 5/5 Dec 25, 2023 Full Review Hail, Caesar! (2016) | Rotten Tomatoes (6) Sean Axmaker Stream on Demand The Coen mix of subtle wit and broad slapstick is all over the film, which hopscotches across stories and soundstages at a snappy pace, and they poke fun at everything except the joy of movies. Kal S A beautifully bizarre bag of characters, as only the Coen brothers can package, resurrects the Golden Age of Hollywood. The tap-dancing sailor scene is worth the price of admission alone. 66% of the Rotten Tomatoes audience may just be too young to ‘get’ this one!(6/2/2018) Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/23/24 Full Review First name L Despite it's playful tone, I couldn't figure out why I didn't like it. Then my sister said, "Did you notice how it didn't have a story?" Rated 2/5 Stars • Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/22/24 Full Review Alec B There's some really inspired satire here and not just about Hollywood. It does feel a bit underwhelming at the end but it would be hard to match the energy of the earlier sequences. Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/14/23 Full Review Pablo A Not the best movie I've seen by a long shot. I have to say I found it funny at times but comedy is very subjective this is why could be mistaken as a different genre. Sometimes watching a movie is understanding that is a piece of art and there are no rules to it. An odd but enjoyable movie thanks to the masterful hand of the Cohen brothers and all of its actors. I have to admit I wanted to see more of Ralph Fiennes but is always enjoyable when he is in any movie. Not a very cohesive movie this is why understandably will be off putting for regular moviegoers which are looking for a purpose, straight forward plot, something to relate to, have emotions or simply have fun. It is hard to please an audience but I think this does a terrific job in depicting through an enjoyable performance an interesting topic about Studios and movies. Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/11/23 Full Review James W People, this is first and foremost a satire, an homage to golden age Hollywood second. If you don't view the movie as a pseudo comedy/satire you won't enjoy it. Otherwise, a fantastic cast, incredibly performed up to the standers of the actors portraying them Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/12/23 Full Review Larry T A disappointment. Especially the final scenes, a chase involving Channing Tatum through several studio sets. Could have been wonderful but was routine and uninspired. Which we also could say about the whole movie.
